Inlet
Here's the moment when, coming up over the earthy, sandy dunes, you first glimpse the water.
I started with one palette today and ended with a different set of colors as you will see in Perinone Mine. That was due entirely to chance. Stay tuned on My Great Day for my posting on that subject.

I've probably written this before and am sure that I'll write it again but... I love to come back to the image after I've finished painting and given the thing time to dry. I find the most unexpected things. For example, I can see a pair of rather demure legs hiding out in the grove above. One day, I would like to be able to work on a grand scale with watercolor as well as I work on the small scale.
Please come over to My Great Day blog and read my posting on First Stroke and then the postings there over the next few days. They're very relevant to my paintings and studies.

I have a feeling that these studies are going to take on a life of their own. Although each is prodding along my landscape ideas, building upon the previous, I am beginning to appreciate them as little paintings in their own right. Which, of course, they are. With that in mind, I am wondering if they have to be related directly to the paintings I post each day on Landscape into Art. Probably not!
